Preliminary Design, Detail Design and Class Environmental Assessment
Consultation
Consultation will be conducted for the full duration of the Project, including two local newspaper advertisements.
The public will have an opportunity to comment, following the Notice of Study Commencement, and via the Project website. A Public Information Centre (PIC) will be held to provide an opportunity for members of the public to discuss the Project with the Project team. Discussions and correspondence with stakeholders including the public, local residents and businesses, federal departments, provincial ministries, agencies, Indigenous Communities, cultural groups and the local municipalities will take place throughout the Project.
Upon selection and design of the preferred design alternatives, a Draft Transportation Environmental Study Report (TESR) will be prepared and made available on the Project Website for public review and comment. Based on the Class EA for a Group “C” undertaking, and the Environmental Reference for Highway Design (ERHD), consultation for the Project will include the following:
Project Notices distributed to select stakeholders – Notice of Study Commencement, Notice of Public Information Centre,Notice of Study Submission
Newspaper notices in two local newspapers – Notice of Study Commencement, Notice of Public Information Centre, and Notice of Study Submission
Providing updates, addressing inquiries and documenting the results of stakeholder input – Throughout the duration of the Project
